About Salt Lake City
We're excited to bring the conference to Salt Lake City, Utah,
home of the 2002 Winter Olympics. Salt Lake City offers world-class facilities,

Climate and Weather
Salt Lake City enjoys beautiful weather during all four distinct seasons. During the fall when MAX 2003 will be held, the average temperature is between 30-50 degrees Fahrenheit.
Activities and Nightlife
Salt Lake City is surrounded by canyons, national forests, and the Wasatch and Oquirrh mountain ranges. 10 national parks are within an easy day's drive. Host to the 2002 Winter Olympics and MAX 2003, Salt Lake City offers such recreational activities as hiking, skiing, golf, and shopping, as well as the kind of diverse night life you'd expect to find in a city of a million people.
To dispel the myths about drinking, here's the facts: The legal drinking age in Utah is 21, and restaurants can serve beer, wine, and liquor to anyone over 21 who is also ordering food. Private clubs—where people go to drink and socialize but not eat—admit "members" and their "guests" only. Becoming a member means buying a two-week temporary membership (usually $5). This membership provides you and five guests access to the establishment. You can also get into a private club by asking to be sponsored by anyone who happens to be going in (don't be shy, everyone does it).

We’re excited to bring MAX 2003 to the Salt Palace Convention Center. Are you tired of attending events where you feel like you’re stuck in a hotel dungeon and never see daylight? The Salt Palace Convention Center is a bright and airy facility that brings the feeling and openness of the outdoors inside. Breakout rooms and the exhibit hall are centrally located, so MAX attendees can mingle and move easily between sessions and functions.

MAX 2003 Hotels
We offer four MAX 2003 conference
hotels to give you the opportunity to select the hotel that best
fits your needs. All four hotels offer discounted rates for MAX
attendees, and are within walking distance of the Salt Palace Convention
Center (map). You can look over the following information, identify
your preferred hotel, click on the hotel link to go directly to
their Macromedia MAX 2003 online reservation form.
Please note that hotels may charge a deposit of one night room
rate + tax at time of reservation. Check directly with the hotels
for deposit and refund guidelines.
Hilton Salt Lake City Center
The Hilton Salt Lake City is located in the heart of downtown
Salt Lake City, adjacent to the Salt Palace Convention Center.
A full $12 million renovation was completed in January 2002, including all guest rooms.
